Welcome caterpillars and families to Early Childhood Central School Road! We are excited to have you begin your child’s early education with us in the Francis Howell School District.
At Early Childhood Central School Road, we bring the joy of early learning to our students through play. Our site offers two program options, multi age and off to kindergarten. We have both half day and full day program options. Our curriculums focus in the area’s of math, language arts, and social-emotional learning. The off to kindergarten prgram is aligned with the districts kindergarten curriulmn to help with the transion to kindergarten. All of our classroom teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education, in addition to many who also hold an Early Childhood Special Education degree. On staff we have occupational therapist, physical therapist, and speech and language pathologists to assist with students who received additional services.
At Early Childhood Central School Road, the focus is on fun and play-based learning, we believe children learn best when engaged in meaningful activities that are collaborative and inclusive. There is lots of time for pretend play and socialization because making friends that will follow your child to kindergarten is important to us and is one of the best perks of our early childhood program! Working closely with families as a team we know your student will have a strong foundation for a lifetime love of learning.
We are excited to have your student and family join our school community!
A community that develops collaborative, resourceful partnerships with families.
A community that maintains high expectations for family, child, teacher, and staff members to continuously grow and experience success.
A community that will equip students and families with necessary life skills including collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, citizenship, and character.
A community that provides an authentic and engaging real-world learning experience in a technology-rich, flexible, and inclusive environment.
As a District focused on continuous improvement, each of our 23 schools develops a site-based school improvement plan every year. The plan outlines the goals and actions the building plans to take throughout the year to improve various areas of performance.
A pyramid of intervention is a tiered approach to prevention and intervention strategies to support students both academically and behaviorally. The pyramid uses a variety of strategies and techniques to help all students stay on the right track. The foundation of the pyramid offers Tier 1 supports for all students. Tier 2 interventions provide additional support for smaller groups of students who need more targeted help. Tier 3 provides the most intensive supports for individual students when Tier 1 and 2 interventions have been unsuccessful. Our schools review and update their pyramid on a regular basis to ensure new strategies are incorporated and all are aligned with best practice.
Central School Road will create an inclusive environment for students and families to lay the foundation for future independent learning and social-emotional wellbeing.
