Coltyn’s Pajama Party Donates Over 100 Pajamas to Children’s Hospital

Central School Road Early Childhood Center spent the month of January collecting more than 100 sets of pajamas to donate to St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The fundraiser was dubbed Coltyn’s Pajama Party, and students and staff were encouraged to wear pajamas to school on Jan. 25 and 26.

The pajama party honors Coltyn, who has been battling a serious liver condition, called Biliary Atresia, since he was just a few weeks old. Having already survived one life-saving surgery, Coltyn will still need a liver transplant before he reaches adulthood. Coltyn and his family have spent a lot of time at Children’s Hospital.

Collections started three years ago, as a way for Coltyn and his family to give back to the hospital that has taken such good care of him. “We wanted a service project that the students could understand,” said Michelle Seghers, a preschool teacher at EC – Central and Coltyn’s great-aunt. “We wanted to be able to give back to the community and play off of our character education theme of take care of your friends and others.”
